Synase

Project Information

The Synase building is a health complex located in Quebec City, Canada. The 100,000-square-foot, four-storey complex houses a medical clinic, a radiology clinic and a back disease centre. The structure is made up of around 375 tons of steel and consists of composite beams and W-shaped columns with splice at every alternate floor level. All four sides of the building have HSS braces and earthquake resistant properties have been incorporated in the building by utilizing seismic design moment-resisting frames with nonlinear replaceable links.

The two frontages of the building are covered with screen printed curved glass and the rear ones are a combination of masonry and metal panels. This 7-sequence project was sent for approval complete with erection and shop sheets within 3 months of the awarded date and subsequently released for fabrication within a month.
